Wildermuth Wetland Planting

Despite the below freezing temperatures on Saturday, November 15, over 25 courageous volunteers bundled up and planted OVER 400 wetland plugs, shrubs and trees in just under three hours! The Council is fortunate to have such resilient and dedicated volunteers. We also thank Craig Straub, Apex Companies, for instructing the volunteers and helping with event coordination.

10/25 Canoe Outing

The Mill Creek Yacht Club paddled 3.75 miles from Millvale to the Ohio River on Saturday, October 25, 2014. We had a beautiful day to welcome 27 crewmates, including Hamilton County Commissioner Chris Monzel. The Yacht Club has now explored our urban stream 112 times with 677 different people!

Mill Creek ReCreation Celebration

The third annual Mill Creek ReCreation Celebration was held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 on a beautiful autumn day. The Council welcomed around 130 guests to Vorhees Park in Reading for a day of festivities in honor of our local water resource! This three-part event was packed with activities and entertainment for the enjoyment of all ages.

Upper Mill Creek Cleanup

The Council was fortunate enough to welcome 30 volunteers to the second annual Upper Mill Creek Cleanup on Saturday, October 4. Participants gathered at Beckett Park in West Chester Township. Loads upon loads of trash were collected and sent to their proper place! We sincerely thank those who braved the chilly weather to volunteer with the Council.

Kao Volunteer Day

Over 60 Kao employees joined the Council on Friday, September 12 at Caldwell Playground for a day of volunteer work. Everyone did such a great job and accomplished so much work, especially in the time frame! Thank you so much, Kao volunteers! Kao is also a new business member of the Council.

Business Roundtable Event

The Council held its first ever Mill Creek Watershed Business Roundtable on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. The audience consisted of over 50 representatives from watershed businesses and communities. The Council sincerely thanks our panelists for participating in this event and raising some great ideas. Let's keep the conversation going! We are planning a Business Charrette for this winter.
