Rain Gardens and Rain Barrels
EXPLORE NATIVE PLANTS, RAIN GARDENS AND RAIN BARRELS
Native plants, which have adapted to southwest Ohio's spring rains and summer dry periods, require less water and fertilizer. Consider planting a simple and inexpensive rain garden to reduce water runoff, improve water quality and beautify your community.
Rain barrels (as shown on the right) or other rain catchment systems are alternatives to a rain garden when the terrain or other conditions exist that make a rain garden impractical. A rain barrel is anexcellent source for watering plants in any garden on the property.
